They’re Informative and Fun for Everyone
Exhibits tell a story about a numismatic topic special to an individual
collector. The exhibitor generously shares that tale in a display of items
they’ve collected and brief explanatory notes they’ve made. It’s a
collector to collector experience done in one to seven glass display
cases.
Over the years, we’ve had exhibits on a great range of topics from
recent U.S. commemoratives to ancient Roman coins. What you’ll see
depends on what collectors choose to show each January.
Exhibits in various categories are judged by experts. The First
Place finisher in each category receives a $100 cash prize. The Best in
Show winner receives a $300 cash prize.
You’ll get to vote on who wins the Bill Watson Peoples’ Choice Award
and $200 cash prize.
A large Bronze Eagle Statue goes to the Barney Loebe Award winner for best
exhibit by a Greater Houston Coin Club member.
During the 2024 show, there will be special incentives for first time exhibitors
in both Y-N (young numismatist, up to 18 yrs old) and adult categories. Each Y-N
exhibitor will receive a silver eagle with the best judged exhibit winning an
additional numismatic prize.
Each adult exhibiting for the first time will get a silver eagle with the best judged exhibit
receiving one years dues toward the GHCC membership and two free dinners at the
2024 GHCC holiday party.
