Youth Auction
The Greater Houston Coin Club gives youngsters (young numismatists) between the ages of 6 and 17 the opportunity to start or add to their coin collection by participating in a youth auction held in conjunction with the 67th Houston Money Show .
The youth auction is scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe. It will be held in the San Jacinto #2 room on the right side of the center.
Each youngster must sign up in person. Sign ups begin at 10 am in the San Jacinto side hallway. Because of certain restrictions, participants will be limited to the first 35 youngsters who sign up.
Viewing of the lots in the auction will begin at approximately 1:30pm with the auction itself starting at 2pm. The auction will end at 3pm. Up for auction will be U.S. coins, world coins, paper money, numismatic items, and some special surprises.
Each youngster will be given $20.00 in play money to be used at their discretion to bid on lots. There will be a total of approximately 70 lots for auction.
Parents are welcome to view the lots with the youngsters, and once the auction begins, parents will be provided seating in the room but may not participate in the auction. Hopefully, this activity will not only be fun but also a learning experience for each and every youngster.
